01

Name every material

Specify gold tone, platinum, brushed steel, enamel, stone type and surface finish. Different materials need different highlight and cleanup decisions.

02

Define what is temporary

List wax, supports, dust, fingerprints and photography rig elements. Protect hallmarks, engraving, prongs, texture and intentional patina.

03

Describe the reflection style

Choose natural studio reflections, clean shaped highlights or a supplied brand reference. ‘Make it shiny’ is too ambiguous for repeatable work.

04

Set the real inspection size

Define storefront zoom, print and archive needs. QC at 100% plus the customer’s magnification rather than only a thumbnail.

PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Questions teams ask before production.

01Can all reflections be removed?

They can be controlled, but believable reflective material still needs reflections.

02Should gemstones be made brighter?

Only within a signed-off reference that preserves facet and transparency structure.

03Are layered files available?

They can be agreed for complex work where the production requirement justifies them.
